Jeti-Oguz (Dzhety-Oguz) – “Seven Bulls”, gorge. 25 km southwest of Karakol is one of the most picturesque gorges – Jeti-Oguz. Its length is 37 km. The narrow entrance to the gorge is formed by tall red rock formations of charming shapes. Behind the gorge from which the Jeti-Oguz Canyon begins, there is a beautiful place called Kok-Dzhayik. It is famous for its quaint rocks, coniferous forests and alpine meadows and the Kek-Jailoo waterfall, 20 meters high.
In the Jeti-Oguz gorge, six springs come to the surface. In one of them the temperature reaches 25 degrees. People drink this water for the benefit of digestion. Other emissions of radon water are heated to almost 36 degrees and in the form of baths are ideally used for the treatment of the musculoskeletal system.
Here is the Jeti-Oguz resort (at an altitude of 2200 m) with hot mineral springs, surrounded by emerald meadows, forests of slender Tien Shan spruce and rocks polished by the winds.
To the south of the resort (5 km) is the Valley of Flowers, which glows with the flowering of many poppies, from May to early summer. Yurts are often set up here and you can stay and relax in them.
The entire detachment of Soviet cosmonauts at one time relaxed in “Zheti-Oguz”. In the valley of flowers Kok-Zhaiyk small houses were built where star travelers restored their health.
The uppermost part of the valley is closed by a multi-meter wall, in the middle part of which rises the beautiful double peak Oguz Bashi (bull’s head), 5170 m high. Many compare this peak with the beauty of the Swiss Alps – Mount Jungfrau.
In the village of Zhele-Dobo there is an ancient cemetery and ancient burial mounds.
Jeti-Oguz (Jety-Oguz), balneoclimatic resort
Located in the north. slope of Terskey Ala-Too, in the Jeti-Oguz gorge, at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level, near the Jeti-Oguz rocks in the valley of the Jeti-Oguz river, in one of the most picturesque areas with coniferous forests, 28 km from the city of Karakol and 392 km from Bishkek.
The location of the resort to the south of mid-latitudes determines a large number of hours of sunshine, high voltage solar radiation, rich in ultraviolet rays, low dust content and increased air ionization. The annual number of hours of sunshine is 1828 hours. Atmospheric pressure at the resort is reduced to 602 mm Hg. Art. In summer, the average monthly air temperature is 13-15°C, in winter – the lowest temperatures compared to other resorts in Kyrgyzstan.
Construction of the resort began in 1931. Since 1965, the resort has been open all year round. The resort operates with 300 beds. Accommodation in buildings with sleeping rooms for 2-3 persons.
The presence of unique thermal waters of varying mineralization, with a high content of radon, was the basis for recognizing the Jeti-Oguz resort as a balneological resort. Favorable climatic conditions allow the widespread use of climate therapy.
The resort’s mineral waters, unique in their chemical composition and valuable in their medicinal properties, are the main healing factor of the resort. Water temperature 25-42°C. Total mineralization 0.9-13 l/ha. The water is unsalted, odorless, tasteless. The composition contains bromine, iodine, manganese, nickel, lead, zinc, aluminum, lime, copper. The biologically active component is radon. The maximum radon content is up to 127 nCi/l.
There is a mud bath where mineral baths are provided, as well as a pump room for medicinal drinking.
The main therapeutic factors are thermal low- and medium-mineralized waters, waters of chloride-sodium-calcium composition. The main feature of the local mineral waters is the high radon content, which has no equal in the world. In addition, the silt mud of the Jyrgalan deposit is used for medicinal purposes, as well as electro phototherapy, underwater shower-massage, gynecological irrigation, a physical therapy room, a therapeutic swimming pool, and massage.
Indications for the treatment of diseases:

Water from source No. 6 is used for drinking for diseases of the digestive system. Also used for treatment are baths, showers, therapeutic mud, massage, acupuncture, therapeutic exercises, outdoor games, health paths, and tourism.
The treatment period is 10-20 days.
There is a cinema hall, a library, and a billiard room.
Local people call this resort “Boyrok” (kidneys).
